PERSONAL:

  • Chris signed with Brewers scout Brian Johnson in June, 2001, when the club chose him in the 28th round.
  • April 24, 2004: Saenz made his Major League debut, after being called up from the Huntsville Stars (SL-Brewers). He shut the Cardinals down, allowing only two hits (to Ray Lankford in the first, and no more hits until Albert Pujols in the sixth) in six-plus innings. He struck out seven and walked three.

  • Brewers organization teammate J.J. Hardy has known Saenz since they were teammates in Little League in Tucson, Arizona.

Hardy says Saenz is good at the capture-the-flag-style video game, Halo. "He wants to play more than anyone," Hardy said early in the 2004 season. "Every time he would come over to my house this spring that's all he wanted to do. He got better and better at that, too. I guess it's just like he did in baseball." (MLB.com-Adam McCalvy-4/25/04)

  • Before 2005 spring training, the Baseball America Prospect Handbook rated Saenz as the 30th-best prospect in the Brewers organization.

  • July, 2007: Saenz was released by the Angels.
  •
